Identity in Text Interpretation and Everyday Life
『テクスト解釈の中に人間のアイデンティティを探る』
名古屋大学文学部 文学研究科237室にて開催。
使用言語:英語(通訳なし)

<趣旨>
While relationships between interaction and social structure have
been the concern of social theorists for at least fifty years,
socially oriented linguists have been particularly active in
exploring such links in recent times. A common motivation for
pursuing such questions often relates to gaining an understanding
of issues that are part of people's everyday lives. This
symposium focuses on one aspect of peoples' everyday lives,
namely the situated interpretation of texts that deal with or bring
about identity as socio/cultural/linguistic difference. In doing
so, we wish to explore how peoples' situated production and
interpretation of such texts - defined very broadly to include
spoken, written, auditory, visual and combinations thereof - relies
upon both socio-historical texts and more locally produced texts.
